Our small family business was started by Charanjit Sapal and family in 2010. She is still at the heart of the business and all of the recipes of our handmade products.
THE PUNJABAN FAMILY
When Gurjeet went to university he missed his Mum’s home cooked food so much that Charlie sent them sauce for him to use.
This started to become a regular occurrence and she soon began to cook a batch every day! Little did she know that Gurjeet had enormous demand for the delicious sauce from his friends and he had started to sell it campus for some extra spending money.
When the truth finally revealed itself the family knew there was a demand for something more traditional and that is how Punjaban was born.
Since then the business has gone from strength to strength, supplying over 200 independent retailers and attending some of the UK’s largest festivals to offer our Epic Indian Street Food.
